Fish throwing was fun, and they do “perform” for the groups. It was nice to get some history of the market. A thoughtful variety of food sampling, but definitely not the best food. I felt some of the areas covered and food sampled (supposedly VIP) a bit off track and not the core of what you would want. It’s a food tasting tour, I would have liked a better focus on that. Didn’t love any of the items we tasted, and there is so much at this market. Food was ok though. We had a nice walk, and a small group that was lovely to travel with. It would have been nice to meet a vendor or two as it was early. At one stop “treats” were taken out of our guides dirty backpack. That’s not a Pikes Market experience. All tastings were fine, history interesting. It wasn’t bad, but we had visited market earlier in our trip so I was hoping to learn more, get more out of this experience. No Beechers cheese on the tour was a big “miss”. I’d have even appreciated a list of recommended shops to hit afterward (expert favorites). Worth doing, I guess your guide and relationships with vendors can make these tours better.
