This 90-minutes boat ride does not take you deep into the Everglades back country or wilderness. Much of the time is spent in the Buttonwood Canal and crossing Coot Bay. The boat turns back soon after entering Whitewater Bay. The naturalist for our tour was knowledgeable and tried hard to make the ride interesting, but there just wasn't that much to see. If you want to see lots of alligators and water birds, I suggest visiting Shark Valley and walking or cycling along the tram path. We passed several kayakers in the Buttonwood Canal that were working hard to make progress against the wind. This isn't a great place to kayak. I think that they would've been happier kayaking in one of the ponds along the road to Flamingo.

Captain Marty and Naturalist Adam were very knowledgeable and personable. They made sure to answer every question and back the boat up if someone missed a wildlife sighting. We saw numerous birds and crocs!

Excellent well described tour of the environment. We saw loads of crocs, and birds, plus a manatee! Highly recommended.
