We had a great day snorkeling on the Mololo with Whitney, JJ, and the captain. Fun to see JJ catch a fish and Whitney kept us safe snorkeling the reefs. She and JJ were knowledgeable about the ocean, marine life, and were very friendly.

We booked the Malolo but ended up on the Calypso which was fine for our family of 5. Breakfast and lunch were included with this so that made it feel like one of the better deals to be found in Maui. It was our first time snorkeling and we thought the captain did an excellent job of educating us before we got in the water. The crew were very nice and helpful as well. We had a beautiful ride out to Molokini with a few whale sightings along the way. We did not see a lot of fish while snorkeling but it was beautiful and we enjoyed it. Our captain was informative and funny. Honestly the hardest worker on the boat was the photographer. She hustled all day and we walked away with the best photos of our entire trip. It is absolutely worth the money to pay for the photo link. She took photos at the dock, on the boat, loads of fantastic underwater pictures. Her photos of the whales we saw were far better than mine. You have access to every picture she took that day. We were unable to go to Turtle Town due to water conditions but the captain made up for it by taking time to whale watch. We saw some incredible breaching action that we were in awe of. All in all we thought it was a great experience and a good value for our money.

Crew was great, enjoyed the boat ride, and the lunch was very good. Just disappointed with the snorkeling. Wasn't "teeming with 1000s of fish" as advertised. Of course, the crew can't control the sea life, but there really wasn't much in terms of fish at all. I was so surprised! So I felt a bit duped. The second site we visited had such low visibility....apparently as a result of weather a few days before. Couldn't see much of anything underwater. Again - something the crew could not control. Just disappointing. We didn't see a single turtle, either - bummer! I saw more fish and a greater variety at Black Rock beach in Lahaina (free to snorkel there), and I saw 6 turtles a few days later as I was kayaking through a cove. If I go to Maui again, I'd just snorkel at the public beaches and avoid the extra cost of these other trips.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback about your cruise. Our captains and crew are trained to place the passengers in the best position to view sea life, and while observing whales, dolphins or turtles is not guaranteed, the large majority of our passengers get the opportunity for some great sea life experiences above and below the water. In fact most reviews mention great sea life experiences.
