This activity took place at the end of our two-week stay in Hawaii - and what a nice way to conclude our wonderful trip! We had been anticipating our Molokini snorkeling for quite a while and weren't at all disappointed. The weather was perfect, the crew on the boat was sympathetic. Leaving early, the boat was among the first ones to arrive to the site. It was nice seeing the Molokini crater up close after having peeked at it from a distance for a few days prior. We had brought our own masks and snorkels, but we took the provided swimming fins and both rented wet-suits (10$ each) just in case the water was too cold, but the temperature was actually quite comfortable and the water calm and clear. The immersed slope of the crater is covered with coral, so that in itself is impressive to see. Then, a few fish here and there underneath us add to the excitement. Not a huge quantity at once, you have to be a bit patient, but we ended up seeing quite a few colorful species. That first hour of snorkeling went by just like that. Then, back to the boat and we went to the shore to see some turtles for another hour. We spotted two or three turtles on the bottom, and found the coral even more spectacular than at the crater. A snack on the boat completed our morning.
