Full-Circle "Reverse" - Route de luxe vers Hana Tour du sud de Maui

Aperçu
#1 We go ALL THE WAY AROUND THE MOUNTAIN so you don't see the same thing twice!
#2 We do it in REVERSE, the way the locals do it!
There are a few options to choose from to explore the Road to Hana so you can experience the rainforest & its waterfalls, streams, fresh water ponds, bamboo forests & lush foliage, but there is only one company where the owners are actually a Native Hawaiian husband & wife team that were born & raised Hawaii. We pride ourselves in sharing the Hawaiian culture, history, & stories about Hawaii & what its like to live life here in the islands, while treating you like the VIP that you are! Our family history goes back 150 years & they still live in a little community out on the Road to Hana. While on tour we'll stop by our family's fruit stand that has been operating for 40 yrs & is the home of "the original banana bread." We'll cover the rigid & rugged terrain on the backside of Maui & travel where most visitors never see. Hot lunch & souvenir backpack included.

This tour with Doug was amazing! I'd recommend to every person I know. The van was super comfortable. The tour itself felt so personal. They pick up right at the hotel, have coffee with your name on it (took order day before) and give a delicious boxed breakfast. They are so accommodating and make sure you know to ask for whatever you need. There are about 6 stops each one is a beautiful photo spot. Doug goes around and takes pictures of each group. The restaurant is very good and is just apart if the tour so no extra $ but a tip. We had a little extra time so Doug stopped at his childhood home and showed us some native plants on his property. He also introduced the group to his parents haha! We got to go to the stand his family owns and buy some delicious banana bread. We had a bonus stop on the way in and got to see several turtles laying on the beach. My only regret is I didn't take my wallet so I couldn't leave a good tip. Make sure you take cash for gratuities because Doug does a great job!!!This was definitely one of the best parts of our trip!

Avoid this company. I started to book the ban tour through them, but was concerned that we wouldn’t get to see everything that we wanted to see, so my hotel called the company (while I was standing there) and asked them if I hired the private car tour if they could stop where we wanted and this company told them yes. So, I paid $1600 for a private car(Cadillac Escalade). First off, when they picked us up, they took the car and we had to wait for the van (that I chose not to book), the owner of the company was driving this van, he told our driver that he had to follow the van the whole way and not stop anywhere except where they did, which was pretty much nowhere!!! They did the tour in reverse(which we weren’t told about until we got in the car). My kids had searched out all the cool stuff to see on the road to Hana and got to see pretty much nothing. They got a late start waiting for the tour bus and flew through the whole thing, stopped at 2 waterfalls, black sand beach and the restaurant in Hana. The last stop was at the owners family home to pet goats and get banana bread/snow cones and they were out of everything by the time that we got there!! So I paid $1600 and didn’t get to stop at hardly anything and none of the cute little stands along the way, not a single banana bread or fresh fruit stand! These people just wanted their money for zipping around the road! The driver was awesome and kept telling the owner of the company that we booked a private car so we could do the road on our own time and we wanted to do more stops and he wouldn’t let the driver stop. My hotel (Wailea beach resort) called the company and complained about what happened and asked for compensation, they offered 10% back, nowhere near enough to make up for the experience. The hotel did however give me 40% back because they were not happy about it either, they called themselves to book the private car and asked if they would stop at all the places that were on our “to do” list and they said that they would. Unfortunately this was on our last day in Maui, so we couldn’t go back and redo it on our own.

Aloha Tammy, We apologize for the miscommunication in the booking of your tour. Unfortunately, Hawaiian Style Tours does not offer the chauffeur service you were expecting. Due to the lengthy and hazardous road conditions of Hana, our Tropical Rainforest Tour only includes the safest and most popular attractions. Each stop is particularly planned to provide our guests with the most authentic experience of our beloved home. Mahalo for your valuable feedback; we hope the remainder of your visit went smoothly. We have contacted the concierge manager of Wailea Beach Resort to clear up any misunderstanding of our services. Prior to booking, we encourage all guests to review our website for details of the tours and amenities we offer. Warmest Aloha, Lilia

We had an amazing tour experience with Doug and Everett. We opted for the private tour with Everett and he did not disappoint with his knowledge of the island and great stories. Every detail was thought out — from coffee and light breakfast to multiple stops offered for photo ops AND bathroom breaks, a definite consideration if traveling with kids or more seasoned travelers. This is definitely the way to enjoy the beauty of the ride with no stress trying to navigate the Road, the beauty of which cannot be overstated. Highly recommend this service! One final point: for those who like seeing a bit of how people live, Doug even offers a quick stop off at the home of his parents (less than 10 minutes)! An absolute treat to feed their goats and tour the grounds. It only speaks to how hospitable they all are.

We truly appreciate you and Daryl allowing us to be a part of your anniversary trip to Maui and for joining us on the Heavenly Road to Hana, in reverse!
