This tour was booked with my (& family's) every intention of enjoying it - however, approximately 2 hours before the tour, it started pouring; with thunder AND lightning, which my wife is deathly afraid (almost hit twice)! It was so bad, we couldn't even find a taxi or Uber/Lyft the 4 blocks to our hotel (from dinner out) & attempted to walk - only to discover the street was flooded & impassable. After a long detour & upon finally getting back to our hotel (soaking wet) I reached out to the tour company who said that they were "monitoring the situation." Around this time we all got alerts on our phones telling us to stay indoors! At about 30 mins prior to the scheduled tour time, I'm then told it's still going to happen. Huh? You can't be serious? Now, I get it - "rain or shine," but lightning AND flooded streets? That's ridiculous. By the way - at tour time (& for good 1/2 hour after) there was STILL thunder & lightning. I honestly find it hard to believe ANYONE went on this tour. If anything, the tour company (&/or Viator, which I was handed off to) just don't like giving refunds - as evidenced by the constant hoops I keep jumping through trying to get one, but with no one actually caring ot responding to my inquiries UNLESS I call/chat/email with them multiple times. In fact, my request still says "refund escalated to customer service" - yet, when I did get in contact with someone, they tell me it's been denied? Really - you couldn't contact me directly? Not one bit of sympathy or understanding - simply going to take my paltry $120 & run? And it's not really about the money, just the principle that I'm writing this. Do you even understand what this petty & unreasonable denial is actually going to cost you? Way more than $120. Because I've booked many tours through Tripadvisor/Viator, etc., but now I'm simply going to avoid using you altogether, forever! I'm also going to advise anyone seeking to book tours (which will be many, as I'm the resident & unpaid "travel agent" for all my friends & colleagues). Shame on you. Just utterly disappointed at this lack of quality customer service. Book & beware people - especially in Charleston, where it does rain quite a bit...
