So my son and I are sitting in a booth in Café Mason near Union Square when I look out the window and see a line of small, funny-looking three-wheeled orange cars across the street. We decide to check them out and discover that they are tour car you can drive around San Francisco. Tereza was very helpful setting us up for a tour at the GoCar other location near Pier 39, as we were headed over there right after breakfast. There, Aleksandra was incredibly helpful in explaining how the gocars work and got us all ready to head out into the street. My son and I were amazed at how much fun it was to toodle around the streets, following the guided tour given to you through speakers in the console. The recording suggested a stop at a beach by Crissy Field and it was great suggestion as the weather was perfect with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Angel Island, and Alcatraz. We went by the beautiful grounds around the Palace of Fine Arts complete with a white swan in the water. From there we motored to Lombard Street and went down the wonderfully twisting road. My son had never been down Lombard Street and I had forgotten how amazing the view over San Francisco was from the road. When we returned, Marina did a great job quickly getting us through the end process. We were able to do all that in an hour and twenty minutes. There are longer routes to take, but unfortunately that was all the time we had. Just a great, great experience. While driving around, we both remarked how surprised we were that we were having so much fun. Definitely the high point of our vacation in SF. Who knew? Thanks to all the GoCar staff for making the experience so excellent!
