My wife and I picked up our GoCar at 9:00am last Saturday morning and returned it at 5:30 that evening. We loved every minute in the GoCar. This has to be the best way possible to tour San Francisco.
We saw The Wharf, Marina District. Presidio, Ft Point, Sea Cliff, Baker Beach, The Cliff House, Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Alamo Square, Russian & Nob Hill and then finished with a quick buzz down Lombard Street . We stopped whenever we wanted and lingered where we felt like it. We saw places that we have never had the opportunity to see even though we've both been to San Francisco several times.
I t was a truly awsome time.
There are a few things you should know:
1. It can get a little bumpy and the cars make a bit of a racket so be ready for a little banging around on rough pavement.
2. Dress for the weather. This is open air touring so you should dress for the elements. The GoCar has a trunk so you can take an extra jacket along. We had incredible weather but it get's a bit cool out by the beach.
3. There are places on the tour where you get into some traffic. Your top speed is going to be about 30mph so you need to be very careful in these spots. The GoCar does get alot of attention, however so we were never really concerned that other drivers weren't too worried about not being seen.
Other than that, get one and give it a try. You won't be sorry.
