The railway trip needs to be understood better. It sounds like you get on a train to the Grand Canyon, with views of the Canyon. YOU DO NOT ! We did think we would be seeing lovely views of the Canyon. We did not, the trip starts off and within 20 mins the truth is, the train travels in the main, through flat boring land and a few woods. Nothing to see. Its slow, 40 MPH for most of the over two hour journey. But no one said there would be great views. So its partly our own fault. The staff are great, the coffee , pop etc.. are free. They have folk come play music and train robbers come to rob the train. We paid for the dome, carrage with a window roof. Sadly because the trip lacks any real areas to see, the dome was a let down. Also, when you book make sure you ask for a seat that faces the line of travel. Some seating would mean you are traveling backwards.
So, its a nice trip on a train with free snacks. But you need to ask, do you want to travel 2.5 hrs one way, when you could car/bus in a hr for $20 fuel?
Its nice to say we have done it but wouldn,t do it again. All in all, sorry but a bit of a let down.
