To put it bluntly, this ride was a joke and NOT worth the money spent -- maybe 40.00 per person at best. Christine was a sweetheart who booked us and Dave was a knowledgeable and safe driver. However, the service is over-rated and underwhelming. It takes you from the Buck Wild headquarters OUTSIDE the gates to the Grand Canyon to 3 major spots on the EAST rim of the canyon. And, while Dave was great at pointing out particular view points, this "tour" can be done on your own, without paying an exorbitant fee. Suggestion: pay the 35.00 entry fee at the Canyon entrance (or purchase the yearly pass to the National Parks for 80.00 -- good at ALL of them across the country) then drive the rim of the canyon on your own and use the pull-offs to view THE EXACT SAME SPOTS that the tour takes you. Start at the visitor's center at the South entrance, then work your way East. There's no need for a tour unless you don't have your own vehicle. We cannot speak for the helicopter or plane rides they offer, but this was a waste of money.

We are sorry that your tour was not as expected, and we appreciate the feedback. We try to be very upfront that our tours, and other Commercial Ground Tours in the Grand Canyon, do not go to any viewpoints that you couldn't go to on your own. There are no special viewpoints sent aside for Commercial Tours, and there is no off road vehicle use allowed inside the Grand Canyon National Park. The benefits of a guided tour are that you go with a guide who will do all the driving and parking, and give you a lot of information about the area. They will also take you to viewpoints that you might not find on your own, but that are of course available for use by everyone. We apologize that this was not what you expected, but thank you for your review as it does help other potential travelers to understand what is and what is not involved in a guided tour at the Grand Canyon.

It was a lot of fun! This tour was a tag-on from Papillion Helicopter tours that I bought for my husband as an anniversary present. For some reason, I was expecting to land at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in the helicopter and then get on the hummer, drive around, and then fly back out. I obviously didn't read the description well enough. Ha! It was two separate tours and still fun. Our guide was great - he took us to some really great spots for photos and offered to take our photos. We got some great pictures! One of my favorite photos from this entire trip of my husband and I were taken by our guide.

Thanks for your review, we really appreciate the feedback. We are sorry that you were expecting to land at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and then take the Hummer Tour, but happy that you still enjoyed the tour. As you found out, no helicopters or airplanes land at the bottom, and there are definitely no roads at the bottom for tours. The only ways to get to the bottom of the canyon are to hike, or take a mule trip, and there is no off road vehicle use permitted in the Grand Canyon National Park. It is so great that your guide took your favorite photo of your entire trip! Happy Anniversary and thanks for choosing Buck Wild Hummer Tours to celebrate with!

Stoney is a great tour guide. The Hummer was great. We visited all the cool spots and some off the beaten path. sure beats paying the gate fee and having drive yourself and find parking at the lookouts. Combined with Grand Canyon Airlines sky tour, a great combo. Thanks Stoney!

Thanks for the great review, we are so happy that you enjoyed your tour with Stoney. You hit the nail on the head about driving yourselves vs. taking a guided tour...you get to see some off the beaten path viewpoints, don't have to drive and look for viewpoints, and don't have to find parking, and of course you get some great information about the area. Combining the Hummer with an airplane tour is icing on the cake, and we are so happy that you chose Buck Wild Hummer Tours.
