Could not be happier that we chose Desert Hiking Company to experience the Grand Canyon. My sister and I planned the trip for our mother’s 70th birthday. Louie was so accommodating, patient, and knowledgeable. He modified the pace as needed for her but didn’t make her feel like she was holding everyone up. His love for guiding and educating others on his passion is evident. The experience was smooth and well thought out. He even had warm chili and tea for us to enjoy while we rested at a scenic viewpoint! I highly recommend using Desert Hiking Company. I look forward to using them again in the future!

I went into this hike mourning the loss of my own physical health and limitations due to a progressive condition, a mother in hospice care and being completely drained and exhausted from work. Our Guide showed up and told us to slow down, it's not about getting from point A to point B, and to make it a spiritual experience. If there was a person that I truly needed in that moment in time, it was our Guide, Chase. We learned so much about the Grand Canyon, more than I could have ever imagined. If you are not using a Guide, you are missing out on so much!! The history, the education, and fun facts. At no point in time did I feel rushed. I got down the path safely and back up again. I got to enjoy peaceful moments and eat lunch in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. I'm glad that I have this memory. It was perfect. If I have the opportunity, I would contact this company to assist in completing R2R. Fingers crossed. Only downside, Chase forgot the hot sauce for lunch.
