My first trip to the Grand Canyon was all I hoped for and more. Richard Thayer, our tour guide, is a phenomenal historian and expert geologist. I never considered myself a rock lover but was fascinated by what I learned! He showed us trees and plants that the native tribes used for food, shelter, weaving, etc. We made a brief stop at a small Navajo outpost for great souvenir shopping (among other things, lovely jewelry that was very reasonably priced). Our group ranged in age from 10 to 75. Everyone was able to keep up physically and there were frequent opportunities for bathroom and water breaks.The day was very well organized and our leader, very inspiring...
