Two hour drive from vegas. Easy drive- mainly on freeway. You get to western rim car park and go into a tent to buy ticket. We didn’t do skywalk as you can’t take photos so why bother. Then outside to wait for bus- under cover so out of sun/ waited fifteen mins for bus. They take you to two observation points. View amazing. Yes you have up queue back for us each time but it was under shade. My view is we saw the canyons- and it was two hours in a hire car.

Grand’ Canyon West Rim is a well organized tourist trap. Reviews indicate it is same or better as Grand Canyon south Rim which is the biggest lie ever. There are 2 observation points only and a family of 4 has to pay 160 USD to enter while in Grand Canyon South Rim you enter for a 35 USD allowing 7 days entry with a car and you can walk for endless trails. As a further element there is no real restaurant or market in the Grand Canyon west Rim in a radio is of 2 hours drive, so you are trapped with the low quality and expensive fast food offered there all of which close between 4 to 6 pm. Only one recommendation: avoid Grand Canyon West Rim at all cost!!

Complete rip off. We couldn't go on the sky walk as it was closed. Paid over 300 dollars for a family of 5 to take a coach to the skywalk and not even able to see down into the canyon. We did the helicopter ride last time we were in Vegas and I would definitely recommend doing that rather then the west rim as you see so much more.
