Came to Atlanta for my bachelorette party and my sister booked a private food tour with Atlanta Food Walks. It was an incredible time! Our tour guide, Alana, was both knowledgable and fun. We were tempted to ask her to hang out after the tour! Most of us had never been to Atlanta before, and we really got a double whammy of Atlanta history and Atlanta food. It was the best way to spend the afternoon. The vendors were wonderful and really seemed to value both Atlanta Food Walks as well as meeting the people on the tour. The soul food, barbecue, sweet tea, Miss D popcorn, meat pies...I'm sure I'm forgetting something but all the food was DELICIOUS. I 100% recommend Atlanta Food Walks!

Every month, my husband and i do #SurpriseSaturday dates and it was my turn to plan for this month. We both love trying restaurants we have never been to before so I thought a food tour would be a fun idea, and, i was right! Our tour began promptly at 12:00pm and ended a little after 3:00pm. We stopped at 7 different restaurants and walked a little over 2 miles through Atlanta. So, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. Along the way, you stop at certain historic buildings/sites and learn about some history of how Atlanta and southern food came to be. Joy was our tour guide and she was absolutely a little ray of sunshine! She really made the tour special! The food played a big role in the tour, but it would not have been as fun if it weren't for Joy! We've lived in Marietta pretty much our whole lives and had never been to any of the restaurants we stopped at on this tour. All of the food was deeeeelicious! Living in the south all my life, i've had a lot of BBQ, and i had the best brunswick stew i've ever had at The Smoke Ring! And, the meat pies from Panbury's....oh. my. goodness. yummm!! We also learned a lot about Atlanta that we did not know. My husband and i both highly recommend Atlanta Food Walks!

This was the second time I have taken a foodie walk with atlanta food walks. Last summer I was lucky enough to have owner Akila as my guide, who did a bang up job. This year I had Joy, who really was a joy! Her name serves her well. What I enjoy about this tour is the variety of info covered historically but also the variation of foods tasted and the sights seen. You really get a great overview of Atlanta: its history, culture and food. Well done!
