This tour covers the Freedom Trail Sites between Faneuil Hall and Beacon Hill. It also includes Boston's founding prior to the Revolution as well how the architecture and culture related to all that. I am not sure what more you expected. Could you please articulate?

The tour guide asked another $15 each of us as payment for the half of the tour. After the tour, we gave him $40 in cash then we asked him where we could catch the trolley bus for our next tour, he instructed us to go to a direction opposite to the place how to catch the trolley bus.

The tour you signed up for is the 70-minute Downtown Freedom Trail Tour ending at Boston Common. Some folks do continue on from there to Back Bay via Beacon Hill, which is an additional $15 if you did not sign up for that in advance. It was not "half of the tour" you signed up for. It seems that you enjoyed the tour since you tipped $10 in addition. I am not quite sure what transpired with getting to your other subsequent tour, but I apologize if you got lost.

The tour guide tried to keep things lively and the stops were enjoyable. I understand combining tours but didn't like having to leave the group half way through because our tour had ended while the rest of them kept moving on. The description of the event also said we would stop where we started and we didn't.

I am sorry you misunderstood. None of our tours return to the starting point so we can maximize what we share with you. None of our information says otherwise. The first part is the Downtown Freedom Trail, which is what you had signed up for, ends on Boston Common. We have a Rest Room break scheduled at that time and those signed up for a longer tour continue on and those that don't don't. There is even an option to extend the shorter tour to the longer one if you ask. I am not sure why this is an issue.
