My 6 year old son, my husband and I are totally city slickers from NYC. We dug in, and decided to try fly fishing...i mean, fishing period. Adam was our guide. He was great! Guys, this is an authentic experience. We hiked for 15 minutes in Waders through backcountry (leaves/branches slapping in our faces, dodging around overgrown bushes, climbing over fallen tree trunks etc) to get to 2 streams where we were the only ones fishing. It is a bit of a hike but when we arrived it was incredibly tranquil. It felt like a very private experience. Lots of bug spray, lots of sunscreen and we were good to go! We asked Adam to focus on our kid, and he caught and released 7 fish and had a ton of fun learning some of the techniques for fly fishing! Definitely a very fun and very authentic experience!

Our Fly Fishing Guide, Will was spectacular! Arrived early and excited. Explained what we were in for, very knowledgeable about the river, fish and surrounding areas. Looking forward to fly fishing with him again! Adam, the owner was very friendly and professional when we made the reservation. Also, returned a phone call when we had to leave a voicemail one time!

Had a great time on the half-day wade in the Willow area last week. We were a group of complete fly-fishing newbies so weren't sure what to expect, but this ended up being really straightforward and fun! From the scheduling/booking to getting us geared up, instructed, and in the water, Adam was friendly, responsive, and helpful all the way through. Aside from actually driving to the location, he took care of pretty much everything else. For the location we went to (on the north end of Willow) we did a little bit of walking, sometimes through brush that might be a bit more than people who grew up in cities may be used to. The mosquitos were also out in force as is the norm during summertime in northern areas, so make sure to use ample bug spray. The river there was gorgeous, and while there weren't any fish to be seen, Adam was able to take us around to a few spots until we were each eventually able to get a catch! (Also it was catch and release only at the time, so precautions like barbless hooks, rubber/non-abrasive netting, and keeping the fish in the water except for a quick photo were taken to minimize potential harm to the fish.) So overall a great experience. Between the instruction, the fishing, and the beautiful environment, 100% worth it and would recommend. Also a sidenote that we felt deserved mention, after we got back to Anchorage my fiancee discovered she had left a ring in the front pocket of her waders. One quick phone call later Adam was able to locate the ring and mailed it back to us in California, out of his own pocket and turning down repayment for the shipping. So like the title said, truly above and beyond. If that's not great service I don't know what is!
