Based on good reviews here we decided to book with Teton Floats for a trip down the Snake River. There were 8 of us including 3 kids under 8 and 2 seniors older than 70. From the initial booking we should have known they were overwhelmed. We had to repeatedly call to confirm the booking and never got an email confirmation. We did the trip on a very busy week (July 4th) and it showed. The float itself was fun and our guide, Riley, was knowledgeable and friendly. But - turns out they use a third party company to bring the van from the start point to the end point and that third party completely forgot to bring our van. We got to the end point 15 minutes before noon. Riley called the office and they had to have someone go from their office to the start point and make it to us. In the mean time there is nowhere to sit in the shade and it was a very hot sunny day. Our kids were hungry and parched. Luckily for us another tour company had space and gave us a ride into town. We ended up making it to a restaurant in town and had lunch at 2pm which after a long ride on the river and waking up early to make the ride was tough on the kids. Joe claims that their van did make it to the pick up point soon after we left (which would have meant nearly an hour after we had arrived. When we called Joe at the office he told us to remain calm and that things happen and that we should practice mindfulness. To make matters worse he didn't acknowledge that they completely dropped the ball and blamed the delay to bad traffic and an accident on the road. We paid nearly $500 for our group for have the trip! In correspondence afterwards with Joe, he was condescending, rude, and clearly displayed no sense of customer service. Clearly others have had better experiences - maybe we just caught him and his company on a busy week. But based on our experience, I would strongly recommend against using their company.

I planned this boat trip with excitement, which did not last! The trip down the river was not what I expected. It was a beautiful day and we did see some birds, marmats,cows, etc. The guide was a very quiet person, speaking only when spoken to. He would answer questions when asked, but did not have a rolling commentary that I expected a guide to have. It was a boring waste of our hard earned money! Maybe the guides should have more training about the area, so they can share it with the participants.(Also the address on the site for booking is NOT correct, which needs to be taken care of)

The guide was knowledgeable and we saw all kinds of bird and river fowls. Eagles, geese, pelicans and even a mule deer hiding in a thicket
