I'm 58 years old and this tour was probably the best tour I've ever been on. Our guide, Nicholas, is a horse trainer on his family farm, so he was extremely knowledgeable. As he told us at the beginning of the tour, he is not the typical tour guide in that it didn't sound like he was just saying a memorized script. It was obvious that he is passionate about thoroughbred horses. My wife and I were on the 8:30am tour, so we were able to see horses working out on the track at Keeneland (our first stop). After Keeneland Nicholas drove us around to several horse farms in the area, including the farm that has contains the grave of Seattle Slew. There we also saw a stud horse that commands a stud fee of $100,000 per session (three times a day!). We saw a stable of stud horses and a stable of newly born foals. Nicholas took us through every aspect of the horse racing business. He gladly made two additional unscheduled stops that were requested by someone on our tour. We rode in a van that holds about 10-11 people, which was a small enough number to enable us to easily hear Nicholas and ask him questions throughout the tour. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend this tour. It's a must see when you visit Lexington.
