Here's a shout out to the greatest tour guide ever!!!..Nicholas!!! Thank you so much for devoting your afternoon, with your undivided attention to all of us in our tour group! Nicholas provided such a personal touch to each and every piece of information about Thoroughbreds he could offer. He has the gift of communicating well with all, and making everyone feel comfortable, from the questions we asked, to the different ages of the group, and the various knowledge level of horses that we all had. His presentation of knowledge does not come across as being scripted or rehearsed, it is more like conversation. Nicholas takes his tour group on a journey, traveling along without missing a chance to engage his audience in larger than life moments, and not missing a second to present the smallest of detail as well. Nicholas has a unbelievable wealth of information to offer, being that he is also in the business of Thoroughbreds-owner, breeder, trainer, and with the racing. We all wondered how in the world does he have time to bless us as our tour guide? Oh how lucky we all were! Getting the opportunity to experience Keeneland was truly fascinating, and learning the details of behind the scenes was incredible! The time we had interacting with the horses was so amazing, a memory that will last forever! I can only say that we gained so much in the time we spent...we most definitely recommend this tour! We have always been intrigued by the Thoroughbreds, and would love someday to have one of our own. We plan to come in the future, bringing our friends along to enjoy. Thanks again, Nicholas! This was a great tour which we are still talking about. Our guide, Nick Newman, is manager (along with his brother) of a 92 acre farm in the Lexington area and has lived with Thoroughbred breeding, training and racing his entire life. He took us to several of the large farms and gave us history of the farms and many of the past and present famous horses coming from those farms. At our stop at Keeneland race track, we were particularly interested in the logistics of racing and an example of his instructions to the jockey for his horse on that particular race day. This "inside scoop" will make my watching future racing more interesting and I will no doubt repeat much of what I remember Nick telling us. It was also really interesting to learn how they select horses to run in the Triple Crown races and Nick's positive view of the current practice. This tour was first rate and well worth the fee.

I know nothing about horses but our travel guide was Nicholas and he was awesome. Our tour guide was in the business so he knew a lot and gave us inside tricks and info. We got to see many horses and different farms. Got to see lots of baby horses and their mom. The only thing we didn't get to go up close to the horses and pet them, I would of really like to do that. Other than that it was a great tour. We also got to go to the Keeland race track and that was cool. Our tour guide said if you tell them next time you go on the tour he will show you different stuff, so it is always different.
