We booked this tour in advance and then had to reschedule the day of bc we had a tire blow out and couldn't get there. They were great in letting us reschedule to an alternate day on such short notice. Getting to the Embassy Suites and meeting up with Daniel, the guide, and the other passengers at the entrance was easy. The van was comfortable, even with a full load, and Daniel had tons of info to share. He had a good personality and was interesting to listen to. The stops at Keenland, Old Friends, and the other farm were interesting, and we got to see lots of horses, foals, and even got to feed some of the horses carrots. The visit with Mr. Blowen at his farm was very interesting. He was being interviewed by the Washington Post in conjunction with Derby Week, and we got our pix published in the article. What a special treat! While anyone could drive through the horse country on their own, it was much more fun having someone else do the driving so that I could sight see along the narrow, somewhat curvy roads and hear all the info that Daniel shared with our group. Several years ago I took another tour which left from the Visitors Center, which was good, but I found this one to be longer, more interesting, and a better value for the money. We are three 70+ ladies, two of whom had very little knowledge of horses, and all of us had a wonderful time!
