We began our day on a negative note. We were asked in advance to sign a waiver online which we did online, and then we had to do it again upon check- in because they sent us one that was out of date. We arrived 45 minutes early as requested, and after we signed in, they had us wait in an area with tables that were soaking wet with dew as well as bird do-do. Gross! We had to clean an area to sit by ourselves.
Once we departed on a perfect sunny day, we found the mother load of whales within 30 minutes. We saw at least a dozen whales, some of which came right up to our boat….it was awesome! We spent a good 30 minutes at this location.
The trip again went straight down hill after that. The ship captain Raj decided we needed to move to see wildlife such as dolphins (we came to see whales), so we began our journey west into a marine layer of fog where the temperature dropped without the sun…. We cruised aimlessly for the next hour and a half in the cold with waves splashing the passengers. There was no communication from the staff during this time, and it seemed like it took forever. It was then time to head back to the dock.
This review could have been 5 stars, but there was little or no attention to detail. Apparently there is a limit ( just like with fishing) to how many whales you can see in one day. What a shame!

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. I apologize about the waiver situation, we had to switch to a new company and so some people are having to sign twice, thanks for your patience with that switch. The benches should always be clean and dry for our customers and are supposed to be cleaned every morning before passengers arrive. I have spoken to the staff about this. On our trips we like to give passengers the biggest variety of wildlife that we can provide given that Monterey Bay is so full of life and tons of species of marine mammals. It is our goal that the crew communicate with passengers throughout the trip so that they know what to expect. We have talked about expectations with the crew to be sure they are completing this task.
