Great experience! Saw lots of wildlife and the crew (Isiah, Dan and Johanne) was helpful and informative. They did a great job at spotting the whales/dolphins and making sure everyone got a good view.

Despite inclement weather, the tour was fantastic. Lots of great whale and dolphin sightings led by a very knowledgeable and friendly crew.

We see Orca whales all the time where we live so when we chose to do a whale watching tour in Monterey it was to see humpback whales. We mentioned that to one of the crew members. We chose Discovery Whale Watching because their boats were smaller so consequently less people per trip. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours and it took almost half that time to get to the first whale sightings…Orcas. The Orca sighting (apparently rare in this area) was beautiful and exciting for most but not what we had hoped for. As we were heading back the crew asked the guests if anyone had an urgent need to get back right away. No one spoke up. Return to Monterey Bay the crew member we had spoken to about wanting to see humpbacks came up to us and said the Captain Danny didn’t want us to return without seeing some humpbacks. A few minutes later we sighted about 20 of humpback whales around the boat. It was an incredible sight. While the boat was stopped a few of them came right up along side the boat. Thank you, Captain Danny Frank and crew, for going out of your way for us. You gave us an experience we will not forget.
