On July 29 2020, my wife, two young boys and I went on the 10 am half day white water rafting excursion. My wife and boys had never been so this was a great experience that I wanted to share with them. We arrived at 9:30 am and the company was very organized. Their staff had lots of energy and enthusiasm. We rode on raft 4 and our guide was Dusty. He was a nice fit for my family and the other family of four. He had some area knowledge that he shared while on the trip and he was also able to teach the other seven raft members what to do as they had no experience. He had a calming influence on the group which probably helped tremendously as it was needed for them later in the trip down the river once we hit some rapids called Screaming Right. I must say it hurt my pride a little as I have some river experience on canoes and rafts, but as we went into this set of rapids I got caught in a bad position and ended up taking a feet over heads backwards spill out the raft. I am a 6 ft 2 in 210 pound firefighter. The fall into the river did not bother me as I knew what to do and how to get back into the raft, which I did so quickly. This is where I think our guide, Dusty, really shined. He knew right away I was overboard and as I was pulling myself into the raft he grabbed my pfd straps and by working together, I was back in the raft with one pull out of the water. Dusty obviously is physically fit, and I think once the raft members saw how that went down, they had no worries that he was able to get any of us out of any predicament. The kids were even jumping into the pool spots after that which added to the rafting experience. So, thanks Dusty for the wonderful experience we had on this trip. We enjoyed the river. It had enough mixture of rapids that made this trip fun for the experienced and inexperienced. We are definitely coming back next year and will hopefully have you as our guide again. See you next year.
