You can call it heaven on earth, props to the staff for preserving the bay with such care, hard to get the reservation but once you get it, it'll be worth it. Watched so many fishes, one thing was when renting the gear, the vendor there did not inform us about the gear for people with glasses, with the lack of this information my friend couldn't snorkel but just watched fishes from above for a little bit. The pointed gear would have helped her snorkel if she was informed. We got to know about this later on after the trip was complete

I was worried about being able to get into the Bay and have tickets, so booked this "shuttle". The driver was clearly known by the Hanauma Bay staff and there was no question about us getting in with the first groups. The time provided was plenty for us. Masks/fins were provided and the driver was friendly and helpful. Note that you do have to have exact cash to buy your tickets upon arrival but this shuttle removed the uncertainty of not getting in, although it was a bit pricey.

I enjoyed this tour because it was easy to make friends and find a swimming buddy. The drivers were friendly and professional, everything went very smoothly and I had a great visit. My only change would have been to bring an umbrella because there's not a lot of shade and you're exposed to the sun for 4 hours non stop. There's a snack shop with burgers and fries, bathrooms, and a tram which was very convenient. I really appreciated my driver being willing to drop me off directly at my hotel vs the drop off spot because I was so tired at the end after swimming and walking so much. So relaxing! People saw seals and turtles and I saw enough fish that it was fun. However, I don't think I'll snorkle again because it restricted my breathing too much. Not everyone will experience that though. If you stayed near the dark areas of the water, floating above when arriving early, you had a far better chance of seeing fish than later in the day when it was so crowded.
