Waikiki Visit the most photographed & surfed beach in the World! Pass by the 'Golden Mile' with multi-million dollar oceanfront properties & beautiful beaches. See surfers enjoy the endless waves of 'Queens Beach'!

Diamond Head State Monument
On the edge of Waikiki is Diamond Head. This iconic extinct volcanic cone is an important part of Hawaii's history & we will discuss its importance to navigation, World War 2 & talk about its significance in modern day culture, movies & television shows. We will stop for a view of the surf & possibly see Molokai which is 30 miles to the east.

Maunalua Bay Beach Park
We will visit 'Hui Nalu Outrigger Club' which was founded by Duke Kahanamoku famous Hawaiian Watermen & Olympic swimming Gold Medalist. We will learn about outrigger canoes & Chris will share his experience paddling these 40' long, 6 person canoes.

Halona Blowhole
Halona Blowhole in on the South East side of Oahu & provided spectatualr views of the 'Ka Iwi Coast' know by Hawaiians as the Channel of Bones. This channel between Molokai and Oahu was heavily traveled by Hawaiians for fishing & conflicts with other island kingdoms to the east.

Makapu'u Point
Makapu'u is a wonderful stop to enjoy and photograph the southeast shore of Oahu looking North. We will see 'Rabbit Island' and Waimanalo Beach where the 'Magnum PI' estate was for the filming of the iconic television show of the 80s.

Nu’uanu Pali
The Pali Lookout was where the 'Battle of Nuʻuanu' took place in 1795. This was an important part of the final days of King Kamehameha I's wars to unify the Hawaiian Islands. King Kamehameha's warriors drove Oahu's fighters off the cliff in the final phase of the battle. The Pali Lookout also provides a spectacular vantage point of the windward side with Kailua Town & Kaneohe Marine Base among the many vistas we will encounter.

We will drive through Chinatown & see the street vendors, authentic Chineses restaurants, farmers markets, meat markets & unique business that makes this part of Oahu special.

We will pass the Hawaiian Palace called Iolani Palace where Hawaii's last monarch, Queen Liliuokalani ruled over the only Kingdom of the US. The queen was overthrown by the US Government 1895 at the behest of the Sugar Plantation owners. We will dive into this history to understand why this happen.

Monument d'État de Diamond Head
Aux abords de Waikiki se trouve Diamond Head. Ce cône volcanique éteint emblématique est une partie importante de l'histoire d'Hawaï et nous discuterons de son importance pour la navigation, de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et de son importance dans la culture, les films et les émissions de télévision modernes. Nous nous arrêterons pour une vue sur les vagues et verrons peut-être Molokai qui se trouve à 30 milles à l'est.

Parc de la plage de la baie de Maunalua
Nous visiterons le 'Hui Nalu Outrigger Club' qui a été fondé par Duke Kahanamoku, célèbre batelier hawaïen et médaillé d'or olympique en natation. Nous en apprendrons davantage sur les canots à balancier et Chris partagera son expérience de pagayage sur ces canots de 40 pieds de long pour 6 personnes.

Évent Halona
Halona Blowhole dans le sud-est d'Oahu et offre des vues spectaculaires sur la «côte de Ka Iwi», connue par les Hawaïens sous le nom de Channel of Bones. Ce canal entre Molokai et Oahu était très fréquenté par les Hawaïens pour la pêche et les conflits avec d'autres royaumes insulaires à l'est.

Pointe Makapu'u
Makapu'u est une merveilleuse étape pour profiter et photographier la rive sud-est d'Oahu en regardant vers le nord. Nous verrons 'Rabbit Island' et Waimanalo Beach où se trouvait le domaine 'Magnum PI' pour le tournage de l'émission de télévision emblématique des années 80.

Nu'uanu Pali
Le Pali Lookout était l'endroit où la «bataille de Nuʻuanu» a eu lieu en 1795. Ce fut une partie importante des derniers jours des guerres du roi Kamehameha I pour unifier les îles hawaïennes. Les guerriers du roi Kamehameha ont chassé les combattants d'Oahu de la falaise dans la phase finale de la bataille. Le Pali Lookout offre également un point de vue spectaculaire du côté au vent avec la ville de Kailua et la base marine de Kaneohe parmi les nombreuses vues que nous rencontrerons.

Nous traverserons Chinatown et verrons les vendeurs de rue, les restaurants chinois authentiques, les marchés de producteurs, les marchés de la viande et les entreprises uniques qui rendent cette partie d'Oahu spéciale.

Palais Iolani
Nous passerons devant le palais hawaïen appelé palais Iolani où le dernier monarque d'Hawaï, la reine Liliuokalani, a régné sur le seul royaume des États-Unis. La reine a été renversée par le gouvernement américain en 1895 à la demande des propriétaires de la plantation de sucre. Nous allons plonger dans cette histoire pour comprendre pourquoi cela se produit.

Parc de la plage d'Ala Moana
Ala Moana Beach Park est le parc populaire d'Honolulu et possède de magnifiques plages, des eaux claires et calmes pour la baignade et le «SUPing» (stand up paddle). Ce parc est la porte d'entrée de Waikiki et se trouve à distance de marche de la plupart des hôtels et complexes de la région.
