We booked the early tour and were greeting by our tour guide, none other than Bill, the owner of Oyster Point Tours. More fortuitous for us, due to some no shows, it was just Bill, my wife, and I on the cooler morning tour.
Bill has a passion for history, theology and teaching and it shows. Even though he has more facts, figures, names and dates than you can remember, through his interactive approach, Bill makes sure you grasp the big picture of the Why and How Charleston became what it is today. I think this is what we appreciated most, to walk away actually learning significant things that we will easily remember.
He doesn't eschew the necessary information and significance of the slave trade and even let's you in on the real symbolism for the pineapple in Charleston.
We will definitely return and refer.
