【Navette de randonnée】Sentier du phare de Makapu'u ou Diamond Head

Start your morning off right with a hike on the East Side of Oahu! Options are below;

(1) Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail (Sunrise Hike) Only Available on Tues, Wed, Thurs and Friday. This is a paved 2.5 mile hike for all ages. This is the best place to watch the sunrise on the Island of Oahu. The views of the sunrise at Makapuu is something you have to experience in person. Also between December to April, this trail is an excellent place to view migrating humpback whales. On a clear day, you may even see the neighboring islands of Molokai and Lanai! There is nothing better than starting off the day by doing some hiking and experience seeing the sunrise on the east side of Oahu. Plus after the tour, you still will be able to enjoy the rest of your day.

We were picked up at the hotel at 5 am and taken to the entrance to the park. The driver was friendly and informative. He provided us with flashlights we used during the first part of the hike. This was an all uphill hike/walk on a paved path to an overlook above the lighthouse. We made it to the top before the sun came up. The views were beautiful. In addition to some nice views of the lighthouse, there were beautiful views of the coastline. We saw a rainbow and a couple of humpback whales. We stayed at the top a while then made the trip down. Our driver then took us for short stops to see Sandy Beach and also the Halona Blowhole. I'd book this activity again.

It is such a great way to start the day and sometimes you see more than the sunrise such as a rainbow or humpback whale. I had a great time conversating with both of you and you were so friendly as well which made the tour enjoyable. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Stephanie was a great guide! She had flashlights for us. Climb was perfect. Not too hard but got the heart pumping. Sunrise was gorgeous. Wish they had a bathroom at the top. We would have hung out a little longer. BUT Stephanie took us to a bathroom and rode us to a few beaches telling us the history. Would definitely do this again and recommend it. Even our teens said it was worth getting up before 5am.
