Iao Valley
Towering emerald peaks guard the lush valley floor of ʻĪao Valley State Park. Located in Central Maui just west of Wailuku, this peaceful 4,000-acre, 10-mile long park is home to one of Maui's most recognizable landmarks, the 1,200-foot ʻĪao Needle. This iconic green-mantled rock outcropping overlooks ʻĪao stream and is an ideal attraction for easy hiking and sightseeing.

Polipoli Springs State Recreational Area
Once a dense forest of Koa, mamane, and ʻohiʻa lehua the Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area is composed of 10 acres of the Kula Forest Reserve. When the park was established many of the native trees were removed. However, in the 1930s the area was reforested with pines, eucalyptus, tropical ash, cypress, China-fir, and redwood. Due to the elevation (6,200 feet), Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area can actually get pretty cold (temperatures can reach freezing at night).

Kula Botanical Garden
Kula Botanical Garden is located on the slopes of Haleakala and encompasses 8 acres of colorful and unique plants, amazing rock formations, a covered bridge, waterfalls, koi pond, aviary and new attractions including the carved tiki exhibit.

Well maintained, well located small park with spectacular views of the Maui isthmus and West Maui mountains

Located on the mid-slopes of Maui’s Haleakalā volcano, Makawao has one foot in its plantation past and another in its thriving arts community. This charming town was once named one of the top 25 arts destinations in the United States. Makawao is the biggest little town in the region locally known as Upcountry Maui and is famous for its Hawaiian cowboys, or paniolo. Since the late 19th century, horseback-riding paniolo have wrangled cattle in Maui’s wide-open upland fields.

Situé dans le centre de Maui, juste à l'ouest de Wailuku, ce paisible parc de 4 000 acres et de 10 miles de long abrite l'un des monuments les plus reconnaissables de Maui, l'aiguille ʻĪao de 1 200 pieds. Cet affleurement rocheux emblématique au manteau vert surplombe le ruisseau ʻĪao et constitue une attraction idéale pour des randonnées et des visites touristiques faciles.

Zone de loisirs d'État de Polipoli Springs
Autrefois une forêt dense de Koa, mamane et ʻohiʻa lehua, la zone de loisirs de Polipoli Spring State est composée de 10 acres de la réserve forestière de Kula. Lorsque le parc a été créé, de nombreux arbres indigènes ont été supprimés. Cependant, dans les années 1930, la région a été reboisée avec des pins, des eucalyptus, des frênes tropicaux, des cyprès, des sapins de Chine et des séquoias. En raison de l'altitude (6 200 pieds), la zone de loisirs de Polipoli Spring State peut en fait devenir assez froide (les températures peuvent atteindre le point de congélation la nuit).
