Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Loved the fact that you can sit in the chairs and touch the pieces. The tea was great.

The guy doing the tour was AWESOME! He was on time and very knowledgeable, I would say It was more talking then looking at any cool things, i got bored and was ready to leave in the first 20 minutes. I expected to see more of the place, we only went in 3 rooms and 1 of them was the gift shop (a little money hungry), but overall if your interested in learning the history of the house and trying some tea (they offer, which is a cool touch) you should go.

Hi Alexis, I'm so sorry you didn't have the best of times. I wish I could include the rest of the house on the tour but the areas we're not able to see are part of the Bed&Breakfast and need to be kept private as that is where the guests stay, and the owners live in the remaining parts. That being said, the three rooms we went in were the oldest in the home (dating to 1667, or 1756) and everything in them (the furniture, objects, fireplaces, wood floors, old beams) are original and represent all of Salem's history; everything from the Witch Trials to the Maritime Age and beyond. The rarity is that these unrestored rooms were lived in by people who lived through the Trials and Maritime Age and, not only are we sharing the same spaces they used, but the objects in them are what they touched and used and you're welcome to as well. The beauty is that we're not a museum, but a living, breathing, working home and we want to present it that way. But to fully appreciate the objects and spaces, explanation to provide context and perspective is needed and that's what I try to give using my historical knowledge and Preservation background (I'm glad to hear you liked that part!) while also tying the home's history to Salem's greater historical narrative so this house and its contents don't exist in a bubble; but instead enrich your experience of Salem when you leave these doors. I always welcome questions on the tour to make every guests' experience personal and engaging, no matter how many people are on the tour. In the end, I truly appreciate your feedback and take it to heart, as I do all feedback. I created this tour myself and am constantly tweaking it with every bit of feedback and new information I learn and receive. I hope you'll return another time, it will be well worth your trip! Sincerely, Vijay

Wonderful! Our tour guide was amazing, informative, and passionate about Salem history. We drank tea similiar to that of what the area had when it was founded. Thank you for a great experience!
