Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

great fun. guides were wonderful. river was challenging at 2000 cfs. If less, consider the more advanced course thru the Gorge.

We had the best time rafting with Tex and Kasen as our guides. As a mom, I was nervous at the beginning but the guides were so calming and clearly knew what they were doing and how to keep everyone safe. We were safe and had a blast! Definitely want to come back! A must-do if you are in the Cotopaxi, CO area.

I very highly recommend Arkansas River Tours as your choice for rafting on the Arkansas River. Our tour was a full day on the river in Bighorn Sheep Canyon. It left out it Cotopaxi and traveled 23 miles. The rapids varied from Class 1 to 4, primarily an intermediate family trip but with enough adventurous rapids to keep everyone busy. Our guide was Ethan and we highly recommend him! He was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide and patient instructor. Lunch was provided and consisted of an abundance of fresh ingredients for sandwiches and dessert. The MOST IMPORTANT reason I recommend Arkansas River Tours is because this independent company has years of experience on this river. Our trip avoided the “raft caravans” that we witnessed on our return trip to base. We had an individual experience which you cannot possibly have if you are waiting in line behind other rafts running each rapid. Please consider ART and ask for Ethan if you can! You will be pleased.
