Being an aviation enthusiast and with two young boys, we had great fun being the Intrepid. Simulators, and 4D were a hit with us. Had to skip a good bit for lack of time. I could have easily spent another 2 hrs at that place. Will return for the rest at some point. 👍

We visited the museum as 2 people who are really interested in aviation & one who was only there because we were but we all enjoyed it! There’s loads to see- from the flight deck & all the different places and helicopters to the lower levels with films and different exhibits to view. You get to got up into the high parts of the air carrier- however if your not a fan of heights like me then maybe give that one a miss. We made the mistake of going on an extremely hot day which made doing anything outside quite uncomfortable but once you got inside it was well air conditioned. The cafe however isn’t worth it- we waited over 20 mins for very disappointing food. I would just not bother next time.

The USS Intrepid visit was brilliant, we arrived at open time so it wasn’t too busy. We booked the aircraft carrier 3D film and one of the simulators, both were great. It’s brilliant to walk around deck and see the planes. We also enjoyed going on the USS Growler however there is a queue and no shade provided whilst you wait, in 30 degree sunshine. The let downs were the food and the Concorde tour. The food service was poor, I stood and got ignored for 10 mins when I just wanted a hot dog, choice was poor and the canteen is in a dingy room. The Concorde tour wasn’t worth the money. We were in the back row so my kid couldn’t see, although it was just a guy at the front with an iPad scrolling through pictures we couldn’t see, talking muffled through a mask. Each party then went up for a chance to sit in the cockpit (the best bit) and take photos (you can’t sit in the pilot or co-pilots chair), however because we were in the back row we went last. We took a couple of photos and the guide was kind enough to take some for us, but after asking a couple of questions he said sorry the next trip is due so you have to leave now! Every group before us was given much longer and we’d waited patiently! I just felt that was rude and the time should have been planned accordingly to ensure everyone gets a decent amount of time.
