Great museum. Boys will love this. Plan on at least 3 hours. Simulators and interactive exhibits. Take the time to talk to the guides as lots of them are ex-sailors with great stories. Submarine, space shuttle, Concorde and an F14 Top Gun style! What's not to love.

i'd give this a zero or negative number if I could. Don't bother trying to get in it is a disorganized mess, I bought a timed ticket and it was mayhem when i arrived, was told would be minimum 30 minute wait in hot baking sun. The timed ticket line was at a complete standstill, while the ppl showing up to buy tickets - that line was moving. Just utter chaos, avoid this at all costs.

Went on a very hot July day with my husband and 3 teenage sons. We arrived just before 4pm...were told we would only need 1.5..to 2 hours to see everything...we rushed round but still didn't see everything...I would suggest at least 3 hours. Boys loved it...Great to look around the aircraft carrier, the planes onboard. Lots of interactive stuff to do in the hangar area..not all working, but boys had fun with what was. We didn't pay for any extras..was pleased we didn't.. as def wouldn't have had time to do them! Had to queue for submarine...worth it though...boys loved it. Great views of the river and manhattan too.
