Yesterday we took a tour with Homegrown Tours in Martha's Vineyard. We were super satisfied! I called the day before to ask questions and told Dee Dee (the owner and operator of the tours) that we would consider taking her tour and that my Mother in Law was in a wheelchair. She told us that it would not be a problem and that she could accommodate us. She gave me advise on what ferry to take (which saved us money) and the process to getting on the island. The morning of the tour she called and we verified that we would be there. That eased my worry that we would not be guaranteed a spot on the tour. Upon our arrival to Martha's Vineyard she was waiting for us on the dock and had pulled up her tour bus close so my Mother in Law would not be inconvenienced. She was able to use the wheelchair lift on her bus and get my mother in law in easily! Also, she was very personable and had a great attitude about giving us information on the tour. She was super helpful and nice to all of us, (there were four in our party) and we really enjoyed hearing about her personal experiences on the island. With her being born and raised on the island, we could tell she knew the island intimately. We learned so much history and facts about the island that I could tell my in laws were impressed. After the tour she was very helpful in getting us back to where we belonged and we were able to do some sightseeing and ate at a nice restaurant before we left the island. I would highly recommend this tour whether you have a handicapped person with you or not. Either way you will come out of the tour knowing a lot more about Martha's Vineyard. Dee Dee is super friendly and made all us feel at ease. Also, the price was very reasonable and well worth it!
