We got the seven-day four-site ticket, and it was a bargain. We were in the area for four days, and with the ticket, we were able to revisit different sites so that we could be inside during rainy weather and outside when it was nice (relatively nice, it was freezing!). At the Jamestown Settlement, we were especially impressed by the musket demonstration at the reconstructed fort--the musketeer was very engaging and informative. We were also impressed by the wonderful indoor galleries. Our only complaint is that we found ourselves wondering which room to enter--there wasn't any indication of what direction to go in in order to see the whole exhibit. We loved the variety of displays--interactive displays, movies, re-creations of homes and a ship, etc. At Historic Jamestown (even though it was 20 degrees and windy), we were terrifically impressed by the presentation given inside the reconstructed church. We think that this was a speech that would normally be given during an outside tour, but we loved hearing it as we sat in the church. We didn't get the name of the presenter, but he was truly wonderful. He gave us a sense of large historical movements and how what happened at Jamestown fit into a larger picture. It was like a really great college lecture; we felt like applauding at the end. We also loved the Archaearium. We also enjoyed the American Revolution Museum at Yorktowne, but if you have limited time, we suggest the Jamestown sites.
