* Disclaimer, you want to be in shape enough for a very brisk walk around very steep inclines and declines of Jerome
First off, my fiancé and I were on vacation in Arizona, and we knew Jerome was a destination we had to see. we knew about the tour because of tv, so we thought we would check it out. I will admit, I was skeptical about the whole "ghost encounters" initially but I went in with an open mind because my fiancé really wanted to check it out.
We showed up to the door of an apartment/business, the kind of thing where the front half was commercial, and the back half was residential. It was cool, I had never seen anything like that before. There was a lounge area directly on the lawn in front of the door. We showed up early to make sure we were on time, so the lounge was nice. The other group of 3 females, who seemed to be younger, also showed up early with us as well.
When someone, who ended up being our guide, eventually showed up and let us in, it seemed like all business. We walked in to like a half counter - half "gift shop" kind of deal. It was cool, we walked around just to check everything out. all the "ghost hunter" equipment was laid out under the counter. that was cool too for the sole reason that I’d never seen anything like that before. on top of the counter, however, we were greeted with the cutest little cat, I forgot their name, but the cat was super friendly.
Before we were going to leave, he had to give us the "tour guide schpiel", this is where they handed out the "ghost hunter" equipment, and I'm not going to spoil it for you, but it was cool and different. To be honest, the guide could have handed me a fancy toaster with a speaker in it and I would have been amazed. up until this point, I thought this was going to be legit, it was going well. and then somehow, I'm not sure if the other group heard it, but the guide used the word pu**y, and in front of 4 females. it was so quick. I was so surprised; I couldn't help but to laugh out loud. For me, this left a bad taste in my mouth.
when we left the building-house, again it was all business. my fiancé and were not prepared, or in shape, for the brisk walk around the steep inclines and declines of Jerome. it seemed like it was a race to each destination. my fiancé and I were physically larger than the rest of the group, so we happened to fall behind. personally, the rest of the group did not seem to either notice that we had fallen behind or not cared. thankfully, the locations were close.
when we got to the first spot, the guide started his little shpiel about the location and told us what to expect. at first, we were not getting activity, then the other group started hearing words from the "spirits" at the location. the guide had then recommended we start asking questions to the "ghosts". after about ten minutes of trying to get the "ghosts" to respond. the guide thought it was a good idea to ask the ghost "is (the actual first name one of the girls) pretty?", then follows it up with, "they like to follow around pretty girls". Right in front of my fiancé who up until this point, and eventually the rest of the tour, had not gotten any reading. Not only did we find this disrespectful, but this also really left a bad taste in my fiancé’s mouth, and for me just added insult to injury.
Other than those two moments, the rest of the tour was awesome. whether you believe in "ghosts" or not, the stories are real. Don't really worry about other "reviews", just do it! Personally, I think it's at least worth the money. Did I leave any less skeptical about ghosts? No, but I would go back and bring my friends.
