With Irish visitors in town, we decided to take a boat cruise to show them a view of the local area we couldn't get just driving around, so we chose the Tuesday afternoon Island Princess cruise from their Stuart pier to the Jupiter lighthouse. It was a perfect choice. It's a great combination of mansions along Jupiter Island and the natural areas and preserves. The captain gave a running dialogue of stories of the estates and history of Jupiter Island, the Jupiter lighthouse, and pointed out the natural areas with osprey and eagle nests. Accommodations were very comfortable, we had a table on the upper deck and it gave a great view of both sides. Seating is first come, first available so it pays to get in line early. There doesn't look to be any bad locations on the boat.
Complimentary coffee, tea, and Danish were provided when we boarded. In Jupiter, we were provided with a box lunch; fresh fruit, chips, a croissant with turkey and ham, and a cookie. I commented on how fresh the ham and turkey were, and one of the crew showed me the galley where they slice the meat and prepare the meal. Soda, beer, wine, and mixed drinks are available at an upstairs and a downstairs bar.
Cruise lasted for four hours and was totally enjoyable. We lucked out with very good weather; looked like about half of the upstairs and all the downstairs were covered in case of rain. The crew were all very friendly and seemed to be enjoying the cruise as much as the passengers. Irish guest totally enjoyed themselves. My wife and I are looking forward to trying one of their other cruises.
