I will start with the good part- the setting of the luau was beautiful and the real flower lei was nice. Unfortunately we were lied to on several things when we booked our package. First- we knew that it was forecasted to rain so we specifically asked the tour agency that sold us the package what they did if it rained. We were assured that it it was going to rain, a large event type tent would be put up and the luau would be under the tent. That was the only reason we even went ahead and purchased tickets which were almost $400 for a couple. This was an absolute lie. We were told when we got there and it was raining, that they have NEVER put up a tent even if it rained. In fact, the emcee spent a lot of time assuring us we were not made of sugar and would not melt so it was okay to get wet. They passed put the thinnest rain poncho I have ever seen. I was excited about the flower lei which was placed around some people’s neck the traditionally way but the teenage boy who looked less than enthused about being in the rain, just handed me a lei which I then had to put on myself. Not a big deal but a little touch that would have been appreciated. We were sold the celebrity package which was advertised to us as being able to be seated first and that we would not have to go through the buffet line with everyone else, but would have a server bring our food to the table. This was also a lie. We went through the buffet line with everyone else and unfortunately nothing was labeled so you had no idea what you were putting on your plate. By the time we got our plates back to the table, it was raining so hard that water was pooling in the food and the wind was knocking everything over. Between trying to hold the rain poncho over my head and keep the plates/drinks on the table as they were filling up with rainwater while the emcee was still making jokes about how we were not going to melt- I finally just put my head down and started laughing/crying because I really didn’t know what else to do. As my husband and I decided to give up and try and get back to the hotel to try and salvage our NYE before it got any worse.. the wind started blowing over THEIR equipment on the stage which finally caused them to make the decision that they couldn’t go on. They did refund our tickets but had we known that they would have made us sit in the rain regardless with no tent- we would have NEVER booked it in the first place. We were still out the $100 to get an Uber there and back since the number that was provided with the tickets to set up transportation to and from the site, never answered their phone or responded to our requests to get transportation. I was horribly disappointed with this experience. A luau was the one thing I was most excited about for our Oahu trip especially that it was on NYE and it was ruined. Very little was the way it was advertised to us by the tour company.

Got this as the Premium choice of our Go Card Oahu, and we are glad we did! :) We went on January 3, 2022 to celebrate my sister's birthday and our 4th month married. Amazing performances and immersive Polynesian culture experience. We had two drinks included with our pass, so of course we got the Mai Tai. Backdrop and scenery were beautiful. We were able to try all the food, but it did get cold quickly. Definitely made our trip memorable!

I am honestly baffled at all of the great reviews. The food was not good, at all. It was cold, and a lot of the food had run out by the time we got to get go through the line and where was the Kalua pork? They paraded it around but we didn’t get any? Personally, I wish they were still doing the preboxed meals like some people are complaining about in other reviews because we would have received what many others did, instead of getting scraps. The drinks are very small. The show was a positive and the atmosphere was happy, but I would definitely not do this again, it was so not worth it. I usually am not a complainer, in fact, it’s one of my pet peeves… but I’m making an exception. Very disappointed.
