This was one of two tours I did with Polynesian Adventures (Movie & Waimea Canyon) while on Kauai. I really enjoyed this tour and Ms. K delivered the tour with almost non-stop commentary! We learned so much and were made to feel like a family after each new group was picked up. She even answered questions not related to the tour and made everyone feel welcome. Words can’t explain how beautiful Waimea Canyon is. We had ample time at the lookouts for viewing and picture taking and visited other sites in route and after that allowed one to see some of the major sites on Kauai. One can never tire of seeing waterfalls! If you’re not interested in hiking to the scenery, this tour is for you.

Disappointing. This is not a hike, nor is there time for a hike. It is BRIEF stops for nature and LONG stops for shopping. Our driver didn't get out of the bus at our hotel, so when we figured out he was there for us, we got on. He never introduced himself (Manny) and provided almost no information about Kauai. Some of stops were neat, but most weren't. Hanging Bridge town may have been cute, but we were there before everything opened. 5 minutes would have been plenty. The next town stop was also before businesses opened and we were there for almost an hour, with junky crap stores that finally opened. Any information would have been helpful: a coffee shop recommendation, location of public bathroom, upcoming stop on the tour, drive time between stops - anything! BTW, state park restrooms mostly (not even a finger point in the direction by the tour guide), apparently never tended to-gross. Almost no information given by tour guide, brief stops at Canyon (40 minutes) and VERY long stop at coffee farm - over an hour! Also, no information given about the businesses where we were stopping. I understand that they have partnered with local businesses, and I support that, but we selected this for the nature stops, and it was really mostly shopping stops and driving. Oh, and a DVD with a chicken pecking out a song, which was funny, but I'm not sure it was meant to be. Lunch was great and a nice location! This is a trip for the elderly, and an older man even stood up and yelled at children on the bus. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

We took this tour yesterday with Gabby as a guide, and overall we enjoyed it. The Waimea Canyon was absolutely gorgeous, there were several stops with lookouts to admire but we wish we would have had enough time at Koke’e Park to do a real hike and not just the 10 minute stroll in a circle right behind the museum. Spouting Horn was really fun, Waimea was a brief stop at some gift shops and JoJo’s shave ice, Hanapepe was fine with some cute shops (Swinging Bridge wasn’t that interesting), short stop at Fort Elizabeth was fine, and we really liked the Kauai Coffee Plantation at the end. We must have run out of time as we didn’t stop at Kekaha Beach Park. We absolutely loved the canyon, and it was nice not to have to drive up those winding roads ourselves, but if we were to do it again we might choose a tour that focused on the canyon with longer time there and fewer stops along the way. 3.5/5
