You start off kayaking in mangroves, tons of birds, about 15 mins into the trip you’ll reach the Gulf of Mexico. I had my 6 year old daughter with me and it was a great experience for her! We got to get shells from secluded islands, which also have sandbars for easy walking. The actual route goes by the city and under a highway, but we just went to the beaches and came back. Perfect trip and learning experience for young kids, but probably not best for babies.

Thank you Seth. Big Hickory Island is one of the best protected eco systems in our coastal area. We routinely see pelicans and other shore birds, osprey, and dolphins. In the warm weather months we often come across manatee tool.

Had a great time kayaking among mangroves! Saw a beautiful island and enjoyed an amazing day in sunny Florida! Loved our guide Tyler and his awesome dog Easton. Tyler was a wealth of information and kept us very engaged!
