We went too early in the season Jul 4 for the salmon so no bears were around. There were several eagles seen on the tour which was great. Some of the things the tour guide told us were not true - such as that salmon have a drop of water in their head from where they were born and they use that to find their way back to their birthplace. Really?!? I would rather a guide just say they didn't know than to just make up some answer! The tour guide dropped us off at Herring Cove and told us he would bring the van back to pick us up. The van did not come back but the tour guide came back on foot to get us and he left me and my husband. We started walking back to where we thought the van was and met up with the tour guide on the way. He told us that he had come back and called all his customers to walk back with him. Obviously, we did not hear! At the end of the tour, the guide said we were running late so the part of the tour to view the totem poles was very rushed. The guide told us stories about the poles but we did not get to walk around and view all the poles.
