Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour

Check-in for the ghost tour is no later than 8:45 at the corner of Duval and Caroline Street in front of the Porter Mansion on the Duval Street side. There is a small booth just at the entrance to the property, at the beginning of the 300 block of Duval Street, and that is where you will do your check-in. Next the tour moves to Bahama Street where the oldest graveyard is located in back of Saint Paul's Church. You are invited to use the dowsing rods at this point to try to engage spirit activity. Just past the graveyard is the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. This stop is where the strange tale of Count Von Cosel and Elana is related. This story is stranger than fiction, but it's all true and documented. You now will wind back around to the La Concha Hotel and hear what happened at the tallest building in Key West. It's a ghostly tale, but not what you probably think. Next the tour moves to the Oldest House and Gardens to explore the grounds at the back of the house, and hear stories about the family who lived here and learn about the many ghostly sightings. This is the most active location on the tour and many guests get pictures on their cameras. Finally, the tour moves inside to hear the chilling tale of a prominent Key West family at their former residence. As the tour concludes, there is time for stories and picture sharing. I go on a ghost tour in every city I visit, so I'm very open to hearing ghost tales and ready for the unusual. Usually on ghost tours, the tour guide takes you to maybe 5 historic sites and shares stories. During our 2 hour tour, we went to three sites. The guide (I think his name was ted) spent more time talking about and using the "ghost detecting tools" then telling us the actual history of the locations. He also spent a lot of time having people take pictures with their cell phones to try and catch some glimpse of ghosts. It's great if people want to take pictures, but when you have flashes going off the entire time, its distracting and takes away from the fun. The guide ended at the Hard Rock Café, which is the least spooky place I could think of. It did have a ghost tale associated with the location, but still, I don't want to go to Hard Rock Café on a ghost tour. If you are really into the supernatural and want to spend a lot of time holding metal sticks and asking ghosts questions, then this is the tour for you. If you have gone to tours in other cities, and enjoyed hearing a lot of spooky history, please choose another tour.

Thank you for joining us the Key West Ghost & Mysteries tour. I'm sorry that it did not live up to your expectations. We do stop at more than three locations and try to share as much of the haunted history of the island as we can in the 90 minute time frame. Finishing upstairs at the Hard Rock has worked well for us as it is located in an ol victorian mansion with a haunted history behind it, in addition it gives our guests a chance to sit down (in air conditioning, which is important during the summer months) and share any experiences or photos they may have captured on the tour. We try our best to make this the most informative and interactive tour on the island. And your input is important. I apologize if we fell short in this instance, but we'll continue research, explore and enhance the tour as we move forward.

We take this tour every time we go to Key West - which is about once a year And every tour I learn something new. It's not a scary tour but more historical and you learn about all the weird and bizarre stories of Key West. Southernmost Ted is my favorite tour guide but they are all wonderful. I would highly recommend

The macabre fascinates me. Stephen King is my Shakespeare, I grew up on slasher films, and I yearn for the day when I can have a true paranormal experience. The horror genre is always present in my household. Therefore, the Key West Ghost Tour was an obvious activity to kick off another crazed night in Key West. I'm not even a novice investigator, so I was only armed with my iPhone camera. I was able to capture some orbs, but the true fun of the tour came from the stories shared at the various locations. The guide was not only entertaining, but informative. This is definitely a tour most people would only want to do once, since it wouldn't be as fun to have the same facts repeated, but you must be sure to check this out.
