Check-in for the ghost tour is no later than 8:45 at the corner of Duval and Caroline Street in front of the Porter Mansion on the Duval Street side. This story is stranger than fiction, but it's all true and documented. You now will wind back around to the La Concha Hotel and hear what happened at the tallest building in Key West. It's a ghostly tale, but not what you probably think. Next the tour moves to the Oldest House and Gardens to explore the grounds at the back of the house, and hear stories about the family who lived here and learn about the many ghostly sightings. This is the most active location on the tour and many guests get pictures on their cameras. Finally, the tour moves inside to hear the chilling tale of a prominent Key West family at their former residence. As the tour concludes, there is time for stories and picture sharing. I've lived in the keys 35 years and know quite a bit of lore. Over the years, I've heard very few "ghost" stories. So, I took the tour out of curiosity. It was, in fact, interesting but I suspect many these ghost stories are the result of the fact that people want to be entertained. I've been told that "new" ghost stories keep getting added. I wonder how many of these "historic legends" have simple been recently invented to fill out the tour.

We've been on one ghost tour in Savannah and both tours dealt with the history of the various locations toured and how the ghosts or spirits came to inhabit these places. We took lots of photographs and have really cool shots of orbs. Ted, our knowledgeable guide, gave a great tour! Try to book your tour with him as the guide--you'll be glad you did. Grab a drink before you go and enjoy!

My hub and I went to that tour after reading all the positive reviews on tripadvisor.com. It started at 7 pm, we had a group of 10 or more people, was really interesting. I never knew Key West keeps such dark secrets. We had Ted as our guide and he knows how to make you believe. We took lots of pictures, but we were not lucky in ghost hunting. Although people from our group had lots of weird things happened to them. BTW if you call in advance and come 15 min. earlier you can get a discount
