À quoi s'attendre
1
The Amish Farm and House
At the start of your tour, you will be welcomed into our farmhouse for a guided 30 minute tour. During this tour, a guide will teach you about Amish history, religion, and clothing as you walk through each room of our historic farmhouse. This is a great tour to start with as it will give you a good base knowledge before arriving to the Amish homes. It's amazing to see their different appliances and their "modern take" on electricity. Our farm house is the first Amish attraction in the United States. The farmhouse was built in 1805 and the last family to live here was in 1955. When you return to our farmhouse you can visit with our animals and artisans. We even have an Amish schoolhouse and covered bridge.
2
The Amish Farm and House
After your guided house and bus tour, you are free to explore our 15-acre farm. We have lots of animals for you to visit with and historic barns and buildings. We also have an Amish-one room schoolhouse for you to visit by yourself. Don't miss riding on the Amish scooters, they are so much fun! This is a self-guided tour that you can do before or after your guided tours. If you select the 2pm tour, we suggest you come early!
3
Amish Country
Next, jump on our spacious minivans and we'll guide you through the beautiful Amish farmlands. The bus will stop at three authentic Amish homes. At each home, mom, dad, and their children will allow you to sample Christmas cookies and chit chat about Christmas traditions. You'll leave each home with a variety of cookies and recipes to make at home. We suggest bringing extra cash to purchase more baked goods and handmade items from the Amish families.

If you are looking for something unique and educational this is the activity for you! Please DO NOT be put off with the fact that it is right next to a Target. We used this as a teachable moment for the 4 kids in our group. The house and farm were there first and the land around it was sold and turned into a strip mall. Our kids now understand the importance of preserving history! I really wish I remembered the girl who did our house tour. She was very knowledgeable and funny! The three families we visited were soooo nice! I asked them tons of questions and the one man actually showed us how they use the sewing machine! 2/3 houses had items you could buy. Well priced! My suggestion is if you come to this tour don’t have time limits. We did the farm for 15 minutes, went on the bus tour and when we came back spent an hour enjoying what the farm has to offer. This was an amazing opportunity! Our group included 2 middle school girls and 2 elementary aged boys and they ALL had a great time! Which is a first :) Oh and the cookies were super good!

Thank you so much for joining us on the Cookie Tour! It is by far our most popular tour- and you described it perfectly. We're so happy to hear all the children loved the tour and learned a lot all while having fun. It sounds like our farm was a huge highlight to your day! So happy you decided to join us this year. We hope it becomes a tradition for you. And like you said, don't let Target deter you! Our farm was here first.

We live locally to Lancaster. My daughter and I took part in the Christmas cookie tour for a fun Holiday day together. We learned a few things about the Amish culture that we didn't already know and the cookies were wonderful. I definitely recommend this tour, it was a fun day.
