The Roaming Table

Our expert tour guides will navigate your through the historic Village of Lewiston. On our three hour tour we will learn about the rich history of this quintessential small town. You will learn about Lewiston’s role on the Underground Railroad, the War of 1812 and even its ties to the Mafia! Lewiston is also known for its amazing restaurants. There are over 30 restaurants in a half mile radius! We will stop at “mom and pop” shops, waterfront eateries, chef owned restaurants, bustling coffee shops and much more. At each stop we will sample generous portions of food (along with drink pairings at 2 stops), enough for a filling lunch!

Nos guides touristiques experts vous guideront à travers le village historique de Lewiston. À chaque arrêt, nous dégusterons de généreuses portions de nourriture (ainsi que des accords boissons à 2 arrêts), assez pour un déjeuner copieux !

My wife and I recently took a trip up to Lewiston to take part in the Roaming Tables Prohibition tour. We had taken their flagship culinary tour previously and were very excited to participate in their newest, Prohibition focused tour. The tour kicked off at Cask + Cow (Elvis inspired slider with fresh chips and bacon mac, house recipe whiskey sour) followed by stops at Gallo (margarita pizza, Moscow mule style cocktail with mint and fresh peach puree), the Griffon Gastropub (Ahi tuna “nacho” in a wonton cup, Gin and fresh cucumber citrus cocktail) and the Brickyard Brewing Company (pub pretzel with house beer cheese, choice of 2 craft beer offerings). The food and beverage selections were great and really paired well. I really enjoyed the historical aspect of the tour which covered the war of 1812, the origin of the cocktail and its creator, the heavy mafia influence in Lewiston and Canada during prohibition, as well as the history of the establishments and their owners. The team of Chris and Alicia at Roaming Table did not disappoint with their newest venture and I am planning on recommending this tour to friends, family and coworkers.

This was my first experience with the Roaming Table, it was much more than I expected! Our tour guide, Rita, was very knowledgeable about the food as well as the history of Lewiston, NY. At select restaurants we had signature dishes ranging from dinners, desserts, drinks, and appetizers. We strolled from venue to venue learning the history along the way. This was perfect, just enough time to digest the good food we had. Rita was quick to make some minor requested accommodations on the way. We would defiantly do this again! I went with my mom and will bring my daughter next time!

This was my first food tour, and it was great. Rita Geiben, our guide, made the trip! She was knowledgeable and made Lewiston’s history come alive. I would recommend her and this trip to anyone who likes good food and a very personable guide that made it a truly memorable afternoon. Well done, Rita!
