Highly recommend the White Water Adventures team! Our group of 3 booked our trip with them for the Lower Yough for Labor Day weekend and were thrilled with every aspect of the adventure. First and foremost, our guide, Ben was THE BEST. Ben was competent, safe, kind, fun, and was great at keeping a pulse on the abilities and needs of the team. We shared the boat with another group of three and he had us all working as a team and getting to know each other in no time. For those new to rafting, the guide will basically steer the boat and give the team paddling direction to help keep the line he's determined to get the raft safely through the rapid. Ben was great at explaining what we needed to do and checking in with us once we got used to things as to what kind of experience we'd like to have on the next rapid. Ben was patient, clear, and mixed things up--- sometimes giving us time to just quietly enjoy the beauty of the river, and sometimes chatting about the river's features or giving us area recommendations. Everyone's idea of adventure is different, so it's hard to recommend which rafting trip might be a good fit, but for us, the Lower Yough was the perfect choice (we were first time rafters, but wanted a bit of a thrill). There was a great mix of excitement and also time to take in the river at a chill pace--- and even a stop for those who wanted to swim and/or climb/jump from a 20? ft boulder. For us, I think anything less challenging would have been a bit boring, and anything for intense might have been a bit much for the first time out. The whole staff at White Water Adventures was great and did a great job at keeping us safe and ensuring we had a blast.

Had a great time rafting for the first time! Tommy was our guide! He was great and made the trip fun! The scenery was amazing and Ohiopyle is a gorgeous park! Brought our kids 12 and 14 and they had a blast! I would have wished I brought my phone - you definitely could take it in a plastic sleeve! Would have loved more pictures!

Our bachelorette party had a blast. Braxton was an excellent guide. I'm certain that our trip was so enjoyable/not too challenging because of his expertise. I fell out early on (I was sitting in the front and the first rapids threw me, so I made sure to tuck my feet extra deep despite the discomfort afterward -- you should just accept that they're going to hurt) but he rescued me easily and we all managed to stay aboard for the rest of the trip. He definitely did the heavy lifting since we barely had to paddle, but we really enjoyed feeling like pros whenever we did! I was so impressed by his knowledge of the river and the right amount of paddling we needed to slip between rocks. He communicated extremely well with us and I'm sure he was very patient too since I doubt that we got everything right. We also enjoyed that he gave us options, like whether we were feeling adventurous enough for the SLAP! (We were! And I sincerely hope he wasn't just being nice when he said our SLAP rock lift/twist was one of the best he'd been a part of, because we were on top of the world.) He totally deserved gratuity but most of us are broke college students so I hope this review counts for something. Unfortunately, there weren't enough sandwiches for us when we stopped for lunch. My friend and I went to jump off the rock and by the time we got back the main meal was gone. We still got an apple and cookie. We were offered some when the trip was over but we opted to leave for better food. We will certainly return to the river!
