My girlfriend and I booked Mahina to have an adventurous day, and we were not disappointed. Our guide Evan was knowledgable and a downright SAVAGE! We were pushed outside of our comfort zone and it made the experience amazing and unforgettable.

I found Mahina Hawaii by searching through Instagram hashtags before visiting Oahu. Our crew wanted to live like a local and skip the tourist-filled spots that come up on every search engine. Ryan, Hewitt, and the crew at Mahina Hawaii are the absolute best. We had some time to fill on the island before the rest of our family arrived and decided to book a half day adventure with them to see some waterfalls and catch some waves. Little did we know we would be booking another full-day reservation with the whole fam...just to experience the island like locals and not waste our time following the typical tourist guides to Hawaii. We ended up finding hidden water falls, cliff jumps, and off-the-grid beaches - all while creating unforgettable memories. Because we were with a guide that grew up on Hawaii, we always felt like we were in good hands. For my scaredy-cat self who just really wanted an adventure that would allow me to keep up with the rest of the family, I felt challenged without feeling pressured, and at the end of the day, extremely accomplished. Everyone in our group (which was private to our family, by the way) was able to catch waves and felt like this was an extremely valuable experience. And in the words of Ryan, our adventure guide, “This might be the first wave of your life. Just go for it”. Thanks for the unforgettable memories, Mahina Hawaii. We’re happy to now have friends like you and will be visiting again soon. PS - they even take pictures along the way and share them with you (free of charge) before dropping you back off at your resort. One million times worth it.

Short story: You have to book with Ryan and do a day adventure. You wont regret it. Long story: We booked a full day adventure with Ryan for 6 people, skill levels all the way from fit and active to only able to tolerate short activities. Ryan did an excellent job planning a day that suited everyone's needs. He contacted me a few days before to solidify the details and was even open to changing up some activities the day prior. He was on time for pick up and we piled in to start our day! We had to skip a few short hikes because of rain and flooding, so we adjusted and went straight to the next thing. We surfed, hiked, snorkeled and saw some amazing views. He knows all the best secret spots on the island. Bonus recommendation was for lunch! We had the best poke the entire trip that day. Everyone in the group had an amazing time and it was worth every penny. From the pre planning to the drop off, everything was executed perfectly. I can't say enough how great of a day it was and how many things we got to see and do that we would not have been able to organize on our own!
