My first of hundreds highlights tours I led happened in 2012 but I still love showing my favorite city. We will cover all the most important sights, will explore the city from a car (much less traffic now with the congestion pricing) and get out for walks in the most interesting locations.

Parc central

Nous irons brièvement dans Central Park pour découvrir sa végétation luxuriante (en dehors des mois d'hiver) et une portion de 50 miles de sentiers, un petit avant-goût de la grande attraction

Fifth Avenue

L'avenue la plus centrale de toute cette partie de la Cinquième est l'une des rues les plus chères du monde avec ses magasins, ses hôtels et ses tours de bureaux.

centre Rockefeller

Le plus grand développement immobilier privé de l'histoire au moment de la construction du Rockefeller Center a surpris tout le monde mais le meilleur moment pour le voir est pendant les vacances lorsque l'Arbre est là

Times Square

L'endroit le plus visité des États-Unis, au milieu du quartier des théâtres, Times Square est mieux vu la nuit, vous devrez donc revenir, mais il vous impressionnera quand même avec les lumières et la foule.

Parc Bryant

Selon la saison, Bryant Park a beaucoup à offrir. Pendant les mois d'hiver, une foire aux vacances a lieu autour de la meilleure patinoire de la ville. En été, une immense prairie au milieu des gratte-ciel donne l'occasion de repos et même d'enrichissement culturel

Bâtiment Stephen A. Schwarzman

La succursale principale de la bibliothèque publique de New York se trouve ici, sur la 5e avenue. Si nous avons le temps, allons voir les trésors de la bibliothèque qui comprennent des jouets originaux joués par Christopher Robin !

Terminal Grand Central

Le plus grand et sans doute le plus beau terminal ferroviaire du monde. Ici, nous prendrons un métro qui nous emmènera au centre-ville.

L'Oculus

Il s'agit essentiellement du Grand Central Terminal du XXIe siècle. Conçu par Calatrava et achevé en 2016, c'est l'extravagance de 4 milliards dont New York a cruellement besoin

Le mémorial et musée national du 11 septembre

C'est le lieu de commémoration solennelle des attentats terroristes de 2001 à New York au cours desquels près de 3 000 personnes sont mortes en l'espace de 102 minutes. Nous verrons le mémorial et je raconterai comment se sont déroulés les événements de cette matinée tragique.

Église de la Trinité

L'église la plus riche du pays est justement située à Wall Street (au coin de Broadway). Pas étonnant que le personnage de Nicholas Cage ait trouvé des trésors templiers juste sous l'église dans le film National Treasure. Le cimetière contient entre autres le premier trésorier des USA - Alexander Hamilton

Wall Street

Une ancienne artère était autrefois la frontière nord de la ville de New Amsterdam - désignation originale de New York. Maintenant un euphémisme pour l'industrie financière, c'est la rue la plus connue du pays sinon du monde.

Salle fédérale

C'est là que le gouvernement américain est né, le premier bâtiment du Capitole s'est tenu à cet endroit, le premier Congrès s'est assis ici et le premier président a été inauguré ici. Malheureusement, la structure d'origine a disparu, mais son bureau des douanes de 1842 (et plus tard son sous-trésor) abrite désormais un musée.

New York Stock Exchange

Le plus grand échange au monde a commencé en 1792 avec un simple document connu sous le nom d'accord de Buttonwood. C'est pourquoi le seul arbre que vous trouverez ici est le boutonnier (platanus occidentalis). Sauf pour le mois de décembre où le sapin de Noël traditionnel est également ici (c'est là que le Charging Bull a été placé à l'origine comme cadeau pour l'Amérique).

Fille intrépide

L'un des sites les plus récents de New York, la désormais célèbre sculpture a été déplacée ici sur Broad Street en décembre 2018, elle se tenait devant le Bull à Broadway, entourée de foules qui risquaient d'être heurtées par un bus express

Taureau de charge (taureau de Wall Street)

L'un des plus grands points d'intérêt de New York, il contient plus de 3 tonnes de bronze et encore plus de chuptzah puisqu'il a été placé illégalement dans les rues de la ville mais est devenu l'un de ses symboles.

Terrain de boules

Le plus ancien parc public de la ville n'impressionne pas beaucoup jusqu'à ce que vous entendiez son histoire et découvriez que la clôture entourant le parc a 5 ans de plus que les États-Unis.

Musée national des Indiens d'Amérique

L'ancienne douane d'Alexander Hamilton a été achevée en 1907, à l'époque où le port de New York était responsable de 85 % du budget du pays, ce qui se reflète dans les riches embellissements du bâtiment.

Columbus Circle

Much more then just a traffic circle this place is a zero point for calculations of distance to NYC, a logical place to start our tour

Central Park

We will briefly go in Central Park to experience its lush vegetation (outside winter months) and a portion of 50 miles of pathways, a little taste of the grand attraction

Fifth Avenue

The most central avenue of them all this portion of the Fifth is one of the most expensive streets of the world with is stores, hotels and office towers

Rockefeller Center

The largest private real estate development in history at the time of construction Rockefeller Center surprised everyone but the best time to see it is during the holidays when the Tree is here

Times Square

The most visited place in USA, in the middle of the Theater District, Times Square is best seen at night so you'll have to come back but even so it will impress you with the lights and the crowds

Bryant Park

Depending on the season Bryant Park has a lot to offer. During winter months a holiday fair takes place around the best skating rink in town. In the summer a huge meadow in the middle of skyscrapers give opportunity for rest and even cultural enrichment

Stephen A. Schwarzman Building

New York Public Library's Main Branch is right here on 5th avenue. If we have time let's go in to see the Treasures of the library that include original toys played by Cristopher Robin!

Grand Central Terminal

The largest and arguably most beautiful railroad terminal in the world. Here we will catch a subway that will take us Downtown.

The Oculus

This is basically the Grand Central Terminal of the XXI century. Designed by Calatrava and finished in 2016 it's the 4 billion extravagancy New York badly needed

The National 9/11 Memorial & Museum

This is the place of solemn remembrance of the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York City in which almost 3000 people died in the matter of 102 minutes. We will see the memorial and I will tell the story of how events of that tragic morning unfolded.

Trinity Church Wall Street

The richest church in the nation is rightly placed on Wall street (corner of Broadway). No wonder Nicholas Cage's character found Templar treasures right under the church in National Treasure movie. The cemetery contains among others the first treasurer of the USA - Alexander Hamilton

Wall Street

An ancient thoroughfare used to be the northern border of the city of New Amsterdam - original New York designation. Now an euphemism for the financial industry this is the best known street in the country if not the world.

Federal Hall

This is where the American government was born, the first Capitol building stood on this spot, first Congress sat here and first President was inaugurated here. Sadly the original structure is gone but his 1842 customs house (and later subtreasury) now houses a museum.

New York Stock Exchange

The largest exchange in the world started in 1792 with a simple document known as the Buttonwood Agreement. That's why the only tree you'll find here is the buttonwood tree (platanus occidentalis). Except for the month of December when the traditional Christmas Tree is also here (this is where the Charging Bull was originally placed as a present to America).

Fearless Girl

One of the freshest sights in NYC the now famous sculpture was moved here on Broad street in December of 2018, she used to stand in front of the Bull on Broadway, surrounded by crowds who risked to be hit by an express bus

Charging Bull (Wall Street Bull)

One of the biggest Points of Interest in New York it has more than 3 tons of bronze and even more in chuptzah since it was placed on the city streets illegally but become one of its symbols

Bowling Green

The oldest public park of the city does not impress much until you hear its history and find out that the fence surround the park is 5 years older than the United States

National Museum of the American Indian

The Old Alexander Hamilton Customs House was finished in 1907 at the time when New York port was responsible for 85% of the country's budget - the fact reflected in the building's rich embellishments
