We really enjoyed the Manta Ray Night Snorkeling, they were beautiful and are much closer to you than you'd expect! I will say the water overall was very crowded with tour boats and so while in the water, you are part of a large group of people. Judging by the other boats near us, I felt like this tour was much better. I thought the boat was nicer, more comfortable, and the crew more professional. We arrived earlier and didn't get in the water as soon, so there was a lot of waiting, but I feel like that was time well spent just relaxing. It ensured we had the prime location but also weren't in the water too long. Highly recommend this company!

This is a no miss adventure for all except very young children. Capt. Bill and Shauna were both super. Felt like we were in very capable hands, safe, fun, and exciting trip. They boat was just the right size, not one of those huge tourist ones or too small. This was a new boat, clean and big enough to move around and feel safe. Bill and Shauna were both knowledgeable and obviously respectful of the Manta's and gave great instructions. It was a truly amazing experience that we would recommend to anyone. Even if you are not a swimmer, they can take care of that! The Manta's come right up to you. These gentle and exquisite creatures are just mesmerizing to watch.Something you will not ever forget. We had four that came to visit us at the same time! We were made comfortable, great fresh fruit and homemade cookies too! Wow, don't miss this trip with this particular outfit. Capt. Bill makes sure you get to the best place, best spot, and best opportunity to see the Manta's up close and personal. Shauna takes great care of you from the first phone reservation right up to the time to leave the boat.

This was by far the best activity we did in Kona. There are many companies offering night snorkeling trips, and I did a lot of research before choosing Manta Adventures and am so glad I did. Capt. Bill and Shauna were stellar! My friend was very nervous about snorkeling with the manta rays and wasn't sure about doing it, but after it was over she couldn't thank me enough for encouraging that she do it!! The boat was top notch. Clean, new, quiet, and comfortable. It had the most amazing lights for attracting the manta rays than any other boats out there. I'm a very large woman with bad knees. The largest wetsuit they had (and they do have pretty big ones) was too small for me, but I went in with my swimsuit and rash shirt and was fine in late April. I wasn't cold one bit. When I exited the boat, I rinsed off in the nice hot shower, removed my rash shirt and tankini top, and put on a long sleeve shirt for the ride back and was very comfortable. Getting in and out of the boat from the dock and in and out of the boat from the water on the ladder was a breeze, even for a large woman like me with terrible knees. Because I didn't have a wet suit, I requested to be last in and first out. Not a problem. As soon as I jumped in, Shauna was in the water, came over and grabbed me, put me in position to hold onto the pvc pipe surrounding the lighted surfboard, and place a noodle under my knees to keep me horizontal. As soon as I looked down, there were schools of fish surrounding me and three manta rays swimming underneath me. We saw 6-7 manta rays in total, and they were underneath us most of the hour doing barrel rolls. It was amazing!! I was holding on with one hand for a good portion of the time and was able to get shoot some amazing videos on my GoPro. The entire evening - from quality of boat, staff, nice group of people on the boat, and the viewing of the manta rays - was top notch and unbelievable. One of the women on the boat did not go in the water (she said she was good with boats but not with water) was watching the entire scene. She remarked that out of 20 or so boats, our group was the most organized and calm in the water. The only downside was that yes, you do leave early from the dock and are sitting out there in the water for two hours before you jump in. But it really wasn't that bad. Everyone was friendly and chill, we met new people, they had some fresh fruit snacks, and no one got sick. And, of course, the pay off is that you have the prime viewing spot in the ocean before everyone else shows up and asks if they can tie up off you (kinda rude of those lazy boat that show up later, but I guess that's how it works). By all means, DO NOT HESITATE FOR ONE MINUTE. Book this tour. You won't regret it!
