This is an awesome experience that you can not orchestrate on your own. Bill, Shana, and Ocean were great hosts and accommodated the skills of each of the participants in the evening. We were able to see many Mantarays and at one time we saw a total of 5 all circling and barrel-rolling in front of our eyes. They were so graceful and peaceful. This was the best experience we had on the Island.

This is a must do activity while on the Big Island!!! We were met promptly at the boat harbor by Shauna and Captain Bill. Check in was simple and quick. As customary for snorkel and boat tours our shoes were collected and stored for us prior to departure. While on the boat dock we were given instructions on all safety and comfort measures provided on the boat (including a bathroom!). Once on the boat we had ample space to store towels and personal belongings before leaving the harbor. Heading out to the dive location was a very nice ride despite some choppy waters. We hooked up to the snorkel site and were provided a light snack and bottled water. Our gear was properly cleaned and masks given care to prevent fogging. Shauna provided easy to follow instructions on water entry and safe areas to swim as well as proper instructions on currents and how to remain safe while in the water. We were given plenty of time to enjoy a free swim while waiting for the sunset. After exiting the water Shauna provides a warm fresh water rinse that is both relaxing and beneficial to both the passenger and the boat. Then there is the sunset! You won’t find a better location in Kona for the view. During the sunset there was plenty of water to enjoy. A nice snorkel guide with photos and some names of the local mantas as well as information was available to review. The Dive!!! Once again Shauna and Captain Bill cover all safety and snorkel instructions prior to entry. The light up board easily allows for all passengers a place to hold onto and Shauna remains in the water to ensure safety and provide assistance as needed. Captain Bill remained on the boat and served as an expert spotter for the rays. Rare moment...a monk seal swam by and the observers onboard had a bonus sighting for their trip. In the water we had an amazing show!! At one point three mantas were swimming within inches of our bodies. Captain Bill always gave us a heads up on where to watch for the next manta. My GroPro was always ready to catch the moment. The crew were outstanding on this tour. They provide excellent information throughout the experience and the gear and boat are clean and very well maintained. No leaks and no fogging of mask during this trip! My expectations of the tour were far exceeded. This truly was an experience of a lifetime!!! Nature didn’t let us down and the mantas put on an incredible display! Mahalo mantaadventures.com

I really enjoyed the professionalism of both the captain and crew! We felt safe throughout the trip and well accommodated. They provided some snacks (pineapple, water and cookies), wet suits as it does get chilly when idling in the water watching the manta rays, and a warm shower to rinse off. The boat was nice and large, they were very clear with their directions and knowledgeable of the manta rays. A lot of the surrounding boats were rather small and crammed, and also had to tie off far away from the viewing location. We arrived early to watch the sunset, quickly snorkel and make sure we had one of the 7 best spots in the crowded cove. There were about 15 total boats around us and people took over our spot after we left. Recommend!
