From advice from friends, went to go see some Manta Rays at night. Awesome experience! The crew members were great! Shawna incredibly sweet. Made it her mission to learn everybody’s name in my family. Cut up some mean sweet pineapple that my son at 4 at a time. Tanner was great. Explained and taught us everything we needed to know and what to expect. Also incredibly nice and personable. Even taught the other members of my family how to properly use their snorkels. Once in the water (wearing half wetsuits) they would point out where the Mantas were. Encountered 8-10 Mantas just doing barrel rolls in front of us incredibly close. One actually came so close I could see down throat. They come very close to us. To Abrie and Brie, have fun this summer and study hard at OCC and Goldenwest. One warning though. The boat does go out early to grab a choice spot and then you sit an hour or two waiting for the sun to go down. So come prepared and take what ever you need not to get sea sick before getting on the boat. Mahalo🌈🍍

Overall, I was disappointed. I had been on this tour a few years earlier and had a stunning experience. This time we only had one ray come up to us for about 15 seconds. We did get to see a Hawaiian Monk seal up close though. The crew was great and other than getting limited Ray contact the tour overall was nice.

Hi unfortunately as these animals are nature's creatures we experience this only a few times a year. We offer Our Manta Guarantee Policy that you can come back on a trip at any time until you see these amazing Manta's in their natural setting and habitat, :))) Mahalo Capt Dan

We are a family/friends group of 6 consisting of middle-age adults and teens. We booked the event with Manta Adventures based on the good reviews we read on Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed. The boat ride was much smoother than what we expected. The captain, Bil, and the crew, Shauna and Tanner, are top-notch people. They were professional, pleasant, and extremely accommodating. Several in our group are weak to non swimmers. With the crews’ help and encouragement, we all had a great and safe time. If we get to return to the Big Island in the future, we will definitely do this again with Manta Adventures. An added bonus, Tanner gave great suggestions of restaurants and coffee spots in Kona area. Do bring plenty (more than one per person) dry towel. The ocean breeze gets pretty chilly after sunset.
